Tooth & Nail String Band is the collaborative project of Tianna Riverbirch and Landon Kotarek, two musicians whose paths through folk and bluegrass music intertwine to create something entirely their own.

Landon, known for his work on mandolin with the progressive bluegrass band Nectar Valley, brings fluid improvisation to the duo’s sound. Tianna’s background is steeped in old-time mountain music, shaped by years of busking, rambling, and street performance with her 5-string banjo. The duo reimagines traditional standards and comes together to create their own unique sound and songwriting.

Tooth & Nail weaves elements of folk, old-time, fiddle tunes, and traditional to modern bluegrass. An energetic blend of clawhammer banjo, mandolin, and both male and female vocals with tight harmonies that create a vibrant mix that will have you up on your feet. Something that carries the warmth of a front porch and the energy of the open road.

The duo is currently working on releasing a studio album.
